we survived the holiday. We visited my Uncle Hal and Aunt Tina on Christmas Eve, Eve. Then to Jan and Janzens on Christmas Eve. Then were invited to Shanna's Parents home with Shanna and Larry, and then to Karen and Bryans house to visit with them and Sandy.
Santa brought Kayleen a BB gun, so daddy looks forward to showing her how to use it.

We are hoping Kayleens behavior will continue to improve. She starts Counseling at school when she goes back in January. There have been so many changes this year, and with Morgan moving to Texas she has another change to adapt to. Delaney is just growing and watching her sister.
I got to speak to my Cousin Ramie today who I haven't spoken with in a while. I almost cried after we talked. I miss my cousins. Talked to my brother Chris and my Nephew Eric and niece Shea Christmas day.

still in shock.
It is a shock that i have 2 children. i still sit here amazed at the fact that we have a new blessing in our lives. I never pictured myself having 2 children. Kayleen is an easy kid. With the addition of Delaney, she feels a bit out of place.
I guess its still shock of having another baby, when the other child is 5 years old and independent. But as of late she is not as independent as usual. Hopefully the whole family can make the adjustments of having a new family member quickly. Delaney is a little poop machine. She goes more than I remember Kayleen going. She goes before and after she eats. She still worry's me at night so I am not sleeping as much as I should be at night. I get a solid 3 hrs from 6-9 am and on and off all night.

kindergarden
Kayleen's first day of kindergarden was Wednesday. She likes her new teacher and her class mates. She is knows her name and is learning lowercase letters. She had been writing in capital letters.
She loves her baby sister. She loves to hold her and talk to her.

Welcome Delaney
This picture of Doug and Delaney taken just a few minutes before her first little episode. Delaney was born at 9:36 in the morning of July 22.
Delaney had a issue in the hospital and once at home turning blue. She is fine now. We think this is now behind us. It is fairly common for children born with a c-section. The amniotic fluid in the belly is trying to come out an
d she would hold her breath instead of breath when this would happen.
Colleen had a c-section and we were released to go home Sunday afternoon. Kayleen was happy that her parents would be at home with her. Monday Colleen developed a headache, loss of hearing in left ear, nausea, and sore neck. After making a couple of calls the only cure for this would be to go back to the hospital for a proceedure. Since Delaney had issues breathing and she would have to have formula while I was gone, I wanted Doug to stay with her. So I had a friend drive me to the hospital, I am not allowed to drive for 2 weeks. I had an epidural put into my spine and blood drawn from my arm and put into the spine. My spinal fluid had leaked and that was causing my symptoms. I was scared and sad to have to leave Doug and the Girls at home but I really didn't want Delaney in the Emergency Room with sick people and Kayleen was not wanting to give up her daddy.
We had our first visit with the pediatrician yesterday and they will see her again next week. I have to go later this week to follow up with my doctor because of the spinal patch.
Doug is being the best Daddy, he has been taking Kayleen to school in the mornings and picking her up. Today he did a bit of shopping. Holding Delaney as much as he can.

7 more days until Delaney
Besides feeling like if my head was not attached I would loose it, I feel great. I had a year of scrapbooking to do. I am down to Kayleens book from August until Now and Delaney's baby book. I might have this done with in a day but then what will I do. The baby album is set up and pages filled that could be. We went to the dr on wednesday and they did an ultrasound and we saw part of her face and her nose. They couldn't do a 3-D because her arm was over her face. So no one knows what she will look like, and we are ok with that. They gave a better estimate she may be 6 pounds. Which Kayleen was pretty close to that weight too. That sounds alot more like what my body could hold. This baby is even in the correct position and we don't have the low water issues, imagine that a baby that is cooroperative.
Kayleen is getting used to her new schedule. We are trying to get her out of staying up so late, and not wanting to get up early. Kayleen is also figuring out she is going to have to share some things. At first she wasn't a big fan of that, she is getting better now.
Next week looking forward to "Taco Tuesday" with our friends and the last social event before the hospital friday morning. Delaney and I will have to be there for 3 days. Doug may have a busy schedule while I am in the hospital. If it all works out, good things may happen for us. I have already started to look for a new job. I found something, but I don't have a guarantee, hoping for good timing. Our Miss Karen came back to Kayleen's daycare center. So Kayleen has been happy to see her again. School supplies are all purchased and Kayleen looks forward to Kindergarden. We still don't know who the teacher is, or if she is in the same class as some of her friends. But we will find out soon enough.
We have had a nice weather here, last night we even slept with the windows open. I am hoping the nice weather continues. Thats all from this side.

Eric's Surgery
Yesterday was Eric's surgery. He did great, the surgery went really well and only took 2.5 hours. Eric is on Morphine and expected to stay in the hospital for at least 5 days. thank you to everyone who donated and purchased from the fundraisers. Without you this wouldn't have been possible.

25 days and counting
I couldn't sleep last night. Tossing and turning, although I was very tired sleep would not find me. I am physically prepared for Delaney to make her enterance but emotionally not so much. I don't even feel pregnant. I know she is going to add so much to our family. I guess im worried about the unknown what if she has problems or is a difficult baby. Things I can not control but things that keep me from sleep.
The family is doing well, our neighbor offered his pool so yesterday all of us mcLates and Shea went to see Cars 2 then came home and swam. The first to enter the pool was of course Kayleen, followed by Marty who fell in. Then Calypso fell in. Both dogs swam out but Marty continued to get in Calypso stayed out. This week we are looking forward to a visit from my brother and sis-in-law and Nephew. Eric gets his surgery on July 5, prayers are appreciated.
This past weekend we all took a trip to Queen Creek for Collin's birthday. He turned 1, Morgan and Kayleen played and enjoyed each other very much. Bryan was home and his mom Phyllis made the trip for the birthday.

pics
Doug playing with his birthday car, a couple pictures from hockey game and me in front of a bentley, for a cool $100,000 i could own one... LOL like that would ever happen.
this week
had some good fun this week, Monday was my doctor appointment. looks like I passed the 2 hour glucose testing. I was kind of sad because i just discovered a spa in there. If I had to go back I would have gotten a facial or something. I did get my eyebrows waxed on Monday. Wednesday Doug, Kayleen and I along with Larry and some other people went to the hockey game. We got pictures of Kayleen standing behind a goalies body so it looked like she was the goalie. Yesterday I surprised Doug with his birthday present. Larry helped me alot with that, thank you again. It was a RC car that was the only thing he wanted. He was grinning ear to ear when I brought it out for him. At first he thought I was going to get the smaller version and I came outside with a big box he was so happy. He had it climbing over rocks and boards last night. Then today he had to deal with some stuff. Seems like when we get him in a good place theres always someone who wants to pull him back into a different place. If you have can't ask the person you are talking about directly a question maybe you have no right to ask what you are asking.....
So hopefully the next day or so that I get to spend with him before he leaves will be nice and quite. Kayleen has been sick all week so if she could get better before he leaves that would be good. I have the best support from the friends i have here in Wickenburg and my family but i really don't want to go to the ER with Kayleen without Doug here. i will email pictures to myself and post later.
Happy Easter everyone.

baby
im not really ready, since I am an only child by my mom and dad but have half brothers from my dad (they never lived with me). I am finding it really odd that my daughter is going to have a sibling. Also I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that I have to do diapers, formula, late night feedings again.... I really didn't think it would happen since it was so long between my first born and now this one. I think this is a little anxiety because my life is changing and I am not the one in control. or it could be the prego hormones which i think have been pretty good up until now. Either way....IM Not feeling ready to be a newborn's mommy again......

kids
Kids are so amazing. Today for instance my daughter was doting on a friend of ours. He was not feeling well and she could sense it. He also had seen some bad stuff at his job and it can make a normal person sad but happy for life.
With Kids there is no end to their love, adults put restrictions and barriers in the way. Kids can love everyone regardless, adults judge first and love second. Kids can love even when they are hurt by the person they are loving, adults...not so much.
I should take lessons from my daughter.

Crayons and Laundry - not a good combination
My daughter is almost 5 and was nice enough to put a yellow crayon in the laundry basket of dark clothes. The crayon was yellow, it melted in the dryer and got all over my clothes.
There are a few of my items that the crayon is all over and the garment can not be saved. As for the clothes that are my husbands, well he had a couple of spots and that was it on each piece.
I did some treating of the clothes and am going to rewash the savable ones, hopefully everything will come out.
Oh and I think I am getting rid of all the crayons in the house.

Kayleen's ears
My daughter has tubes in her ears that have been there since she was about 9 months old. She had an ear infection so we took her to the dr, got a prescription and thought all would be well. So a week later - ear still leaking we got another prescription for ear drops. So now all will be better. No, within a matter of days the drainage wasn't there but blood. so we waited over the weekend to get to see the ENT Dr. Guess what the tube is falling out and this is the ear's way of saying I don't need that tube. So we have a small infection to clear up and she had one tube removed already the other one will follow next week. Sigh of relief.

Eric Needs another Sugery
I added a donation button to my page.
On Friday my Nephew went to Phoenix childrens for an excuse from PE. Instead he ended up with: multiple Dr.s and surgeons and xray they said surgery from 2 1/2 years ago has been deemed a "failed attempt" . The next 2 months involve cardiology exams, pulmonary reports, and another CT....so once again he... goes in for repair...this time the Nuss Procedure, with 2-3 bars.
The cost to the family is a $1500.00 deductible and 10% of the costs. The last surgery was $84,000.00.

Jan 22 & 23 cakes
January 22 was Amanda's baby shower. I hosted the shower with her step mother Cheryl. We had Valle Luna - only the best mexican food for my friend with cravings. Doug made the cake. I planned the games and prizes. It was a good day.
Sunday Bryan was in Drill weekend for the Navy reserves. Doug made a retirement cake and we all went down to where they hold the drill. The other Guys and Gals in his drill unit brought food and drinks. What a great way to celebrate retirement.

Birthdays
Our friend Larry turned another year older the other day. For the occassion I asked Doug to make these special cookies. The first attempt failed, and don't ask me to decorate because my cookies were lame. Here is the end result. I think they are really cute and super funny.
it has been a while hasn't it.
